The Opportunity – IT Systems Administrator (Denfield or Listowel, ON)

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the functionality of the network and software systems, providing support to system users, and ensuring a top-notch network and system for our internal staff. The System Administrator is a key resource for installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting all hardware, software and communication platforms. Responsible for Tier 1 and Tier 2 hardware/software problems, ensuring a timely and accurate resolution, and providing end-user training where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional service to our staff from start of support incident through to completion and communicating effectively throughout the process
• Administer, monitor and troubleshoot a wide variety of operational IT systems including all hardware, software and networking platforms
• Proactively identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations
• Accurately maintain service orders, logs and documentation in accordance to policies and procedures
• Provide new user training and orientation
• Assure that best practices, IT policies and procedures are properly observed and maintained

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years related experience including supporting a 24X7 manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated experience working with various Microsoft Technologies
• Demonstrated experience working with various virtualization platforms
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, VLAN, etc.)
• Certification(s) in Virtualization, Security, ITIL and Windows Server
• A strong commitment to high quality customer service
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
• Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team based environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
• Ability to be creative, innovative and demonstrate a commitment to quality

Working Conditions:

• Ability to travel as required to various locations in Canada
• Occasional off-hours work to meet IT system demands
• Lifting or moving up to 25kg may be required
